At the Presidential Introduction of Energy Secretary, Steven Chew, who - by O's admission - actually deserved his Nobel Prize followed by (what Willie Geist called a Beavis & Butthead laugh) an extended heh, heh, heh....much like our own Betty Jean does at particularly skewering "jokes," I couldn't ignore the demonstration of Essential Obama. To Ms. Mag, I would offer an update: "THIS IS WHAT A GENTLEMAN'S "C" LOOKS LIKE." In that self-amused Window, I saw the Maynard G. Krebbs of the business of the world: "WORK!" is simply not on his agenda, and to go into one's garage on weekends to "tinker" with ways to extract natural gas is - by the President's expression, one would infer - laughable.... beyond his capacity to relate... just the kind of kookie thing that wins one - legitimately - a Nobel Prize. In the College Crowd adoration mode we like to call Campaign, the Candidate resumes his "put down" Mean Girls schtick that wins him insecure minions readily wound up and manipulated like emotional missiles. Privledged Preppie who, no matter how elevated his own status remained in comparison to the rest of us, could always find rationale to whine about how he suffered humiliation at the hands of his other bitchy teen-age classmates. No; Barrie wasn't a victim of racism by White America. He was the typical adolescent cry baby "picked on" by the kids in his school who's families were richer than Madelyn Lee Dunham and weren't Hawaiian. How he extrapolate that "Every Kid" gawky growing up experiene into a Crusade of "I'm Half Black: I'm Collecting What's Due Me, You're standing on the spot I want: get out of my way!" may be crystallized in that demeanor he adopts when he takes the stage to "level with his peeps."
This is a comedian. He takes his "room" with him and ridicules anybody who, by comparison, comes off looking even slightly serious about getting answers, results, "the Job Done." Getting the JOB is the Goal, Dumbed-Down Affirmative Action Hookies. Getting it DONE is above my pay grade.
So, the Geist-Meister moves onto the next most amazing clip-of-the-week at the Congressional Correspondants' Dinner, Anthony Weiner addresses his name. "Vote for Weiner; He'll Be Frank." And Vote For Weiner; He's On A Roll." and "Really, like, who Is Boehner fooling? ... What am I,... like, ...Anthony WAY-ner?" Embrace It, Brother! Are they admitting they're all just a bunch of dicks?
Is this the inevitable result of their "Beat The Girl" attitude that led them to hate working with Women? I GET it! Women, as Betty Jean self-imposed sabbatical to accept suggests, are notoriously difficult to work with. I've always felt it was due to their house-bound, narrow worldly, children-consumed duties that we are so crammed into a canyon with little flexibility and too many rules. But at the end of the day, WE KNOW we can do this job better than the hacker in chief, and We are the Ones We've Been Waiting For! I know the attitude. From any comedian's point of view, actions that appear stupid are quite differently viewed when you're facing down bloody noses, household finances and a spouse M.I.A. during March Madness.

"Qaddafi Must Go" ... Reprise of the "Hillary Must Go" Shove
My disgust for this hacker and his "guard" is out front, here. The entire push to "organize the international community" behind the NATO action is the result of yet another rash, rhetorical and inflammatory statement made by the incredibly inappropriate academic Fool who believes himself to still be seated in the United States Senate where he can shoot off his mouth with meaningless opinions, then vote "Present" when push actually comes to shove. Utterly irresponsible and never held truly accountable, the Politician is unable to lead from his own conviction and is willing to try whatever the media demands in order, not to lead the Nation, but to preserve his status.
Behind the madness of a team of disorderly Press and dishonorable colleagues, the pushing and shoving engaged in by the anti-Clinton coalition began immediately after Obama emerged from the Iowa Caucus with the Land Owning White Guys' collusion. "Hillary Must Go!" was the cry of the Trolls joined even on the floor of the Senate by Ried, MSNBC and the Black Caucus. At the May 31, 2008 Rules & By Laws Committee meeting, Michigan represented its willingness to nullify its own delegation in order to challenge Iowa, whose winner has gone on to win every Democratic nomination for the past thirty years, for the right to demand first dibs on choosing the President. In a Statement asserting the urban point of view, reformation of a system whereby property owners exercise undue power absent the preferences of ethnics was professed to be the purpose which drove the challenge. Yet the CHOICE for which Michigan voted, the ethnics considered, wasn't the CHOICE the reformers expected, necessitating the move to unseat the State's duly elected delegation.
As I write this, the identification of some voters as African Americans screams to me something that, until this moment, I hadn't correlated. I guess it's consistent with the "Citizen of the World" pretense behind which Obama conceals his disrespect for Patriots, that they are not simply "Americans," but a separate but 'equal' African American segment of the American community who reserve the right to pick and choose whether they are Americans or Africans on a given issue case by case. This same "Social Sciences" approach is offered by the President and his Strategists in the Middle East where we will make a Case by Case determination of which Country we will support in revolt against self-serving leadership.
The gesture by the Democrats to imply that people of color will be so influenced by skin color in electing leadership that they are commandeered into the position to do so by moving a state where a large number of them are registered to the early primaries in order to secure the benefit of their presumed support for black candidates.
In both Michigan and Florida, the segmented-out voters disappointed the "racist" gamers by choosing the female candidate, debunking their carefully concocted myth. Both sides must take away a lesson from this outcome: The dividing of the PIE is a challenging process.
From Divinity Within, a moment: Creation is the Product of Division. Mathematics measures a circle by PI. Expanding the Circle entails the factor 3.14 applied to radii, circumference, diameter... "To Infinity and Beyond!" Our differences are the nature of our greatness in that with the exchange of views, we come to expand our understanding of all we can be, do and achieve.
Conflict that results from the indulgence of competing interests is the path down which the Obama Leadership has taken us and the choice rejected by those of us who seek a greater emphasis on Professionalism in Government. For Women in Political Leadership, this preference for professional leadership is the Equlizer. Not for Chivalry, but for Humanity do we reject the Drivers in favor of the Balancers. A constant such as PI is antidote for American Society, to the tarnished Fools' Gold Rule equating money with power and political advantage. Expanding is the means by which to distribute the true wealth of this Nation. To Patriots, it is the first principal of our Declaration that "All Men Are Created Equal."
Rational, worldly-wise Citizens are now free to move onto something worth doing. The novelty that was Obama has become circular and moribund. In programming terms, this dawg won't hunt. What remains of the United States of America has been commandeered by the DNC as a counter-balance to what was done to it under W.
Life has taught me that by the time we can count the money on the table, the Spirit has left it. Blessing and Offering it to God infuses Wealth with PI. Faith in the Almighty as a partner in Creation, likewise, sequesters the growing prospect in protective ambiguity and concealment that is neither noticeable to nor obtainable by those not posessed of Spirit.
In this we may take Faith, be moved to Hope and through Love be preserved in the face of any threat. To those of us who acknowledge God and live by religious convictions, secular humanism is the "not ready for commitment" intellectualization of someone like Barak Obama. Himself lacking in Christian insight, Obama is what he is: the product of an upbringing in a country of Muslims who are no less driven by misunderstanding than Right Wing, Christian Conservatives in this country. While the unethical continue to skirmish and fight over Oil Wealth, Wall Street "paper" and Currency Values, the "Creators" are far more respectful of "LIFE" than either extreme.
A result of Creation is often "Waste." Until a formula is proven, anything and everything must be considered and attempted. Thus, the "Everything, including the kitchen sink" throw in was the method by which - know it or not - The pretentious Obama is taken out. Some of the "waste" remained obscured, unnoticed and undisturbed when the fight began. What has been developing "under the table" has a parallel in that which is unseen, not yet grasped hovering in the air above our heads. A naturally expanding alterntive invites us to step to security, solvency and stability. Most miss the moment and fail to notice the subtle shift underfoot, but "Leadership" has been imposed on those of us whose service has been consigned. When the Call comes, we sense the expanding energy of Spiritual indwelling and respond with a calm acceptance of our duty. My Eyes open to the process, which is nothing more than processing all that comes at me, attend that which I am about to be shown. It is not by my choice that ensuing actions are determined, but by my willingness to offer my choice to the Divine Opter.

Jimmy Carter: Time To Put On Your 444 Day Sheep's Skin
I'd be interested, today, to learn from the Peanut Farmer's mouth, what's actually going down in the North African Perimeter and the level of insight to which his own experience, which drove Democrats from the White House in 1980, has delivered him.
For any who imagine I might have become a 'Reagan Democrat' off the experience of the 2008 Democratic Primary, please know that my gut tells me Reagan/North/Haig/Weinberger cut the deal with Osama Bin Laden's Contractor Family to arm the Contras and bring down the Iranian Shah. In my gut, I have no doubt that in his position as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, George Herbert Walker Bush enabled the entire scandal - fully knowing that the unsophisticated Carter Administration was reliant on them for "intelligence," and that the move from RNC to CIA under equally unsophisticated, Gerald Ford, was the equivalent of the fox in the henhouse for Reagan Backers.
White Guys lording over Land is the way of the West and Ronald Reagan was the Bonanza Rancher of technicolor and mapping. Jimmy Carter escorted the Human Rights and Dignity Issue into the essential staples of Democratic Politics and on his watch, the idea of treating all Hands as On Deck for Prosperity was his uniquely Southern Standard. His faith and common sense stability was the skill he brought to the White House, much to the distaste of the Eastern Liberal Establishment. The victory of the Upstart Southern Poor was immediately squashed by three "Land Holding" Forces: The Texan Oil Block (W), Hollywood and the Nor'Easter Coastal Compounders: Kennedys in Hyannisport and Bushes in Kennebunkport.
Common Sense, for Folks, is the essence of Common Expreience, and let's face it: Our experience - It's You and Me whom I mean by "Our," has NOTHING in common with these folk. For us, social order is preserved by ethics and voluntary convention. While We, The People are here asserting out Divinely Endowed Rights to Life, Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness, the Land Grantees are determined to preserve their "lordships" over properties accorded them by the very King against whom they are now wealthy enough to Revolt.

Yet we can expect the Whoopies and Joys of the 'daytime' world to dismiss him as unbearable, walk off after having THEIR say and continue to perpetuate the myth that it's racist for White people to take sides, but any threat to Black Supremacy - just because - is an unendurable indignity.
Their All-But-The-Cannonization Saint Barack has led the downtrodden out of blindness and they're all now "living the dream" ...THROUGH HIM!
That's a lot like pretending that ALL WOMEN so savored Pelosi's election as the first Female Speaker of the House that we paid it forward by delaying electing a Woman President to prove that women truly CAN work together to make the world a better place.
O'Reilley let it be known that he has his Accountant, "Swifty," just PAY IT. And he LOVES just paying it - his taxes run in the millions, he claims, and he relishes just paying it because for three straight years, Bill Clinton had him audited in an effort to send him to a Federal Penitentiary.
Now, I ask you: Where is that "Tax The Rich" Promise Obama made? It's right in the toilet with the stuff about putting on his Rockports and walking the picket lines in support of the Unions who supported HIM! Geez! Immelt is certainly cashing in on his backing of Obama. Wait until the President gets it shoved back in his face when the NRC goes thumbs down (as did the Chinese) on General Electric's Nuclear Reactor design in favor of the substantive Westinghouse provers.
Zero the Fool continues on his Journey, having just passed the encounter with the Death Card - Again - to get slickly by the reviewers of the Fourth Estate, hidden under the robe of the Angels of Healing: Temperence. (Low Bridge: Everybody Down. Low Bridge, ' cause we're coming to a town) Like the Polichinelles (Buffoons) beneath Mother Gigione's huge skirt in the Nutcracker, these enfantes enter by our grace and indulgence, not their own earned skill. This, I suppose, is the fund-raiser performance. We cannot take it seriously, Bill-O. We're a "struggling" Arts Society, not a serious Country about the business of Business. As I recall, General Electric relied upon ruse to beat Tesla to the Patent Office with that very lightbulb they now banish in favor of a pig's tail.

Hoorah, Victoria Jackson
Truly, the integrity to articulate disapproval with the Gay Glee Kiss was in order. So who cares if the slackers get all ugly at you for calling them out? They ARE obnoxious, the typical stupid children who are "sexting" and without comprehension of the level of exposure to which they've subjected themselves. Jackson could have cooled it some with the bible prop, but it's not the bible that "says" it's wrong or otherwise, it's common sense to keep the material on a show about and for high schoolers age appropriate. In Hollywood, the child actors are junkies by the time they're fifteen, and that makes unfortunate young people like LiLo, Brittany and Sheen iconicallly pathetic.
They're kids. Let them work out their sexuality in their immediate circle. Stop foisting same-sex wierdness on the "every kid" who's just looking for acceptance and belonging. The Cosmos Goes "American Graffiti;" Closes In to Moon Us
Waxing to fullness,

and the pretty faces of the Press Corp can only do what they do: fantasize, glamorize and speculate with no understanding of the incomprehensible knowledge of Mankind, we've been here. This is not the Unknown except to the media.
Back in "the day" when I skated in Piedmong Park, great showmen, Alvin Fleming & the Cosmos, would trundle down the path to the boathouse flats with their massive wheel borne amplifier powered by a half dozen car batteries. They were awesome break-dance roller skaters with incredible crowd pleasing skills, crankin' music and true personal power. Not just amusing, they were professional, gentle and performed at a level that set an example for onlookers of quality and character. Tactful yet assertive, they were compelling in style, challenged those who approached disrespectful and were totally dance. Because I have witnessed and eventually worked in their circle, I know what to expect of men who aspire to leadership greatness. Fondly, I recall my earliest months in Atlanta, seeking a church and meeting others in my community of professionals. The Waxing Moon was a vegetarian restaurant operated by the same practicing Witches who ran the Wicca Church. They had tax exempt status and although I was aware of their community, never ventured any closer than to dine there once. On Sunday evenings, after the park, we'd go to the DAR building on Piedmont & 14th for the New Age services. Faith healers held hands out as though receiving pulsations or radio waves to their palms. They "offered" to help me, but I guess I don't truly believe. Until something happens that makes me respect ... it ... just may be somehow, possible.
The Cosmos weren't regulars anywhere, but were likely to show up anywhere, on their skates. When you noticed them, they were attracting attention - for the right reasons: they were worth watching and spontaneous. They were about respect, about skills, about positive behavior and very, very little talking. For that, they had the songs...Atomic Dog, Run DMC, the messages clear, witty and an unending developing routine.
We had no camera phones, no Internet, no You Tube then. But Atlanta had a school of Photography and many camera owners who brought their lenses to the party. And they took pictures. Endlessly, I can only imagine, if that scene were to unfold today, surrounded as we always were, by hundreds of people watching skating, that I'd go home on Sunday evening and as I sat on my ottoman, removing my skates, I'd see a different ending. Instead of looking up and seeing myself and my friends on the six o'clock news, I'd be getting emails from friends linking me to You Tube up links. It's a new day. We are all able to watch each other.
I went to Google Earth and located Japan, then Libya, and noticed the numerous web cams dotting the map. Every fifteen minutes the picture changes, and so, I can imagine that live cameras could soon afford us real-time views of anywhere someone with a camera wants to post. Thus, the Moon entering its perigee, at it's closest point to Earth in its orbit, waxing gibbous into its fullest smiley face comin' at us with the Man-In-The-Moon Grin for our Eve of Spring Equinox Saturday Night Live. Reactors wheezing in Japan, French Fighter Jets enforcing the No Fly Zone over Libya with the US launching cruise missiles toward the Mad Dog Howling in Tripoli and we can only figure, there are some Star Wars yet to Enter this Play on the Horizon. Whoa, what a night! What is it they call that military operation? Odyssey Dawn.

Instead of looking up and seeing myself and my friends on the six o'clock news, I'd be getting emails from friends linking me to You Tube up links. It's a new day. We are all able to watch each other.
I went to Google Earth and located Japan, then Libya, and noticed the numerous web cams dotting the map. Every fifteen minutes the picture changes, and so, I can imagine that live cameras could soon afford us real-time views of anywhere someone with a camera wants to post. Thus, the Moon entering its perigee, at it's closest point to Earth in its orbit, waxing gibbous into its fullest smiley face comin' at us with the Man-In-The-Moon Grin for our Eve of Spring Equinox Saturday Night Live. Reactors wheezing in Japan, French Fighter Jets enforcing the No Fly Zone over Libya with the US launching cruise missiles toward the Mad Dog Howling in Tripoli and we can only figure, there are some Star Wars yet to Enter this Play on the Horizon. Obama: Immature, UnProven, Rash - Hillary Finally To Bolt
The Candidate whose minions and 4th Estate Cheering section donned striped shirts when it served their agenda, suppressed Hillary Clinton's campaign with assertions that Obama opposed our involvement in the Iraq War. They ignored the fact that he hadn't even been in the Senate at the time of the vote. They ignored the fact that Clinton's vote was to untie the President's hands in the event that military action became appropriate, and the fact that at the time, Obama was not even engaged in any effort to stand up in opposition to the Bush Administration's invasion.
Three weeks into the Libya matter, having run his mouth that "Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution" Muamar Gadaffi must leave office, the Occupant of the Oval Office has painted himself into the proverbial corner. Operating from his fantasy-induced supposition that his charisma, alone, would suffice in negotiating with world leaders, the Candidate does as HRC opined he might...naievely wade into undertow without a depth of relationships that will have his back and that of his Country.
Responsibility without Authority can only frustrate the Secretary of State who shows a clear mind to make an early exit from "State" because Administration Yipper Dawg cannot "decide whether today is Tuesday or Wednesday," Gentlemen: Where are the Black Guys on this? Can we somehow relate getting our butts covered in the wave of People's Uprisings on the North African perimeter to popping a leather ball through the hoop at such a feverish level as to become known as "March Madness?" Can we put this in terms "The Brothers" can understand: terms those of us who don't have agents and posses and million-dollar signing bonuses kind of "get?" The hateful, ruthless "Whip" who behaved as though Candidate / Senator Clinton was a typical White Woman, deserving of the beating he so delighted in delivering by playing the race card with abandon as though assault by black guys were something "typical" white women deserved, represents Obama's failure to lead as "COMPASSIONATE?" While Hillary began her campaign with a listening tour, The One gave speeches to "rallies" of frenzied, adoring fans culminating in the Toga Party in Denver for which he only charged $5 bucks. Sounding more like a "Dawg People" backyard beer party than a political campaign, thepunks kids demonstrated their superior qualifications for the Presidency with the adroit exploitation of Social Media and online fundraising. Seems to me a cheap, no-commitment contribution of the amount that would purchase one a Footlong Hoagie hardly substantiates the sort of support on the part of hoardes of individuals who can just as readily move onto other equally cheap thrills when the "Game Changer" high wears off. Broad but Shallow reach constitutes "Flash In The Pan" Fadness to the OWNERS of businesses like TV, Radio Stations, Newspapers and Magazines aka: The Fourth Estate. These Businesses operate on budgets, just like the Government. When income streams dry up for these businesses, their competent management finds another product, develops the next new thing, falls back on tried and true bread and butter basics to bolster their bottom lines.
No matter how much the Immell / General Electric / MS-NBC driven hype asserts otherwise, the propped up presidency is not capable of sustaining BUSINESS, of creating JOBS, of RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT of Markets here and abroad and now we see, of sitting down and having productive TALKS without conditions with their Dictator/ brothers around the World. Hillary Clinton is snubbed by those Chauvanists in the Middle East who want their "Brother" to come and sit down with them. They aren't satisfied with the "Give" they get from the President who thinks he can send a Woman to meet with them when their EGO, just like HIS, demands face time with their GUY!

Evan Bayh Joins Fox News Contributors
Senators who have also served as Governors discuss the "leadership" emitting from the White House. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Bayh of Indiana can take positions evolved from both levels of political office. On the Curvy Couch, Bayh gives the President a measure of leeway to deal responsibly with the debt ceiling and the budget. While allowing that Obama is holding out, "Waiting for the critical moment" before stepping in to lead like the Goose Honking from Behind, and begged off criticsm of the OOO with assertions that all be worked out at budget-passing time. Manchin, on the other hand, asks questions about how this is any way to govern?
Manchin is in the mix at the moment, not retired from it, so he has skin in the blame game. He left the WV Governors' Mansion for the Senate to impact the process, having rejected the Progressive Agenda, deployed Blow-Away Gun imagery in his campaign to succeed where so many democrats did not in order to be the Voice of Honor the Press cannot.
Bayh, now a Fox Contributor, debuts today with a PR savvy offering of 'no negative' to enter the Mix on the Other Side as a melting pot of good government. Unlike many, MANY other democrats who submitted to the craven cash call of the Obama Campaign, Indiana's former Governor remained faithful to Hillary Clinton as both a Super Delegate and as a Friend. His accomplishments as a governor who succeeded in navigating Indiana to higher ground with Unions and Public Employee pension issues without fanfare asset his substance to viewers of Fox. He elected to leave the Senate and didn't seek re-election because, like Bart Stupak, had found the ground beneath his feet un-sustainable. Pressures from the Left had become so offensively personal that in order to preserve traditional Democratic Faith, Bayh, LIKE SARAH PALIN, chose an unconventional but self-respecting alternative.
Seeing him on Fox News this morning, I feel reason is returning to the Democratic Party. While half-assed Liberals claim credit for the 40 hour work week, (NO, that was the DEMOCRATS.) Womens' Rights (No, that was WOMEN getting up on their hind legs and earning it for themselves in the FACE OF OBNOXIOUS REJECTION WITHOUT CONSIDERATION FROM MEN.) and Clean Air, they fail to recognize that the Moderates, Democrats, Independents, Republicans, Constitutionalists, Greens and Libertarians, were able to restrain their personal attacks on those with whom they disagreed for long enough to find common ground and advance in the best interests of ALL by choosing their battles and giving a little everywhere they could.
The Left and those who would have you believe that they are victims of godless Capitalists are nothing more than Psychos terrified of competition. It is inconceivable to them that a mind open to new ideas or views from another perspective is the stuff of which successful lives are made. Instead of endlessly applauding themselves with superlatives about their historic gravitas, they would do well to adopt a measure of - if not humility - then certainly a reasonable recognition of all the support they received (and which they notoriously don't reciprocate.)

He did so with the coordinated, RESPECTFUL inclusion of all factions who came to the table and accorded each a portion of his success. The Obama Administration can't get itself out of the Frat House, off the College Rah! Rah! stage and conducts communication with the Voters as though none of us live beyond the boundaries of the crime-addled inner city.
That "New, Hipper, more Urban" Democrat described by Donna Brazile was nothing more than a white ball in the Fraternity Induction Vote giving the Affirmative Action Candidate a chance. What we of the middle still don't buy is the notion that the thin resume presented by their Guy was something we were not permitted to question. What Left Wing Wealthy Family hands the recently graduated son the Presidency of their Revenue Stream Company without at least putting the kid through the motions of learning the family business? The Administration's Honeymoon with Congress is over, the Maid of Honor has been restored to Minority Leader and the time has come for the Bride of the Boogie Men to retire the Veil of Illusion and learn to cook and keep house.
If that isn't the sort of "Marriage" the Left sought from bedding Mr. Cool, then maybe they should just get him a job and keep him out of trouble, cause he sure ain't making a serious go of the Union. He leaves all the work to Mom & Dad and heads for the gym or a jaunt with zero connection to any sort of professional discipline and comprehension of his duty.

The Heroic 50 --- Seeing Stars
The moment you realize you're falling on your roller skates, the Universe slows down.
As you fall through a motion all knowing, a connection to the tail bone shows the Milky Way of Stars. For a couple of weeks, the pain is debilitation.
If you are the other side of the Cosmos of having your thumb in the dyke of the on-rushing sea, you are seeking to flood the reactor now breathing dragon fire, and carried in your work by the almost certain prospect of the end of your life as we know it on Earth.
50 Nuclear Plant workers have returned to the task of protecting an entire nation, entire world from the threat of what the Media calls a meltdown. It would seem that they are carried on the wings of Angels, the prayers of all sober, sane folk and and the updraft of lost souls...they leap, in faith, across the chasm of a frontier unimaginable.
In Irony, the refugees endure arduous cold, seeking shelter from wind and snow of Japan's winter, yet the withering heat surrounding the power plant melts all that is, lest these Titanic 50 prevail.

I never had a doubt that the local "Progressive" Democrat faction was anything but selfish brats trolling for somebody's lunch money, The demand for Change in my own micro experience, proved to be nothing more than the tactic of choice for Bill Ayers types with their Cloward/Piven training aping the 60's radical mind-set. The only thing about "Revolutionaries" that has evolved is their penchant for taking other's earnings and pissing it away on technology that has no viable worth on the ground while those bombs they fondly build are coming back at them with a vengeance.

Pennsylvania's Republican Governor follows New Jersey's and Wisconsin's Republican Governor
The resident "Progressive" Spammer recently lobbed this letter to Governor Corbett from a Teacher whose "right to collective bargaining" is a target of the Republicans in Harrisburg,
March 10, 2011 Dear Governor Corbett, I am writing as a grandmother who is very concerned about the proposed cuts to educational funding. Education is the last place we should be skimping. I am worried that you are considering legislation to ban collective bargaining by teachers. And worse, there is talk that you propose legislation to allow school districts to remove teachers for any economic reason. This move would be dreadful for our children for these reasons: - Nepotism would run rampant. School boards could hire their relatives and cronies and replace excellent, mature teachers with inexperienced, untested rookies at will. - Experience would be undervalued. Budget cuts would force higher paid, master teachers out of jobs just when they are most effective. What a tragedy this would be. Younger teachers would lose the mentorship and wisdom of teachers in their 50’s and 60’s. - Fewer capable young people will be attracted to education. One of the ‘pulls’ for those called to education is job and pension security. Educators give up early, high income for security. It frees them to be creative as teachers without having to worry about whether they will be employed or replaced each year. That is too much stress for a profession that is extremely stressful under the best of conditions. - Collective bargaining has ensured that teachers receive a decent pay. It has taken years for teachers to be given a fair wage that is commensurate with their education and ability. We don’t get to bargain about gas prices, food, or dental costs. Of course the public wants teachers on the cheap. But that doesn’t make it right. Unions always take into consideration local costs when bargaining. They typically come up with a formula that boards and union members can accept. - Teachers contribute heavily to their retirement and health insurance. I don’t think the public realizes that from day one, each paycheck has a hefty deduction toward a pension and health insurance. - The public has scapegoated teachers as a visible force that is to blame for the deficit in state and national budgets. Where is the outrage toward millionaires in the health care, banking industry and Wall Street? Politicians have been adept at pitting those in the middle class against each other, and it saddens me greatly. - Budget cuts have a negative impact on students. Larger classes reduce the quality of human connections in teaching, which is the single most important factor in creating a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. - It would be a better country if we were all willing to give our fair share, have pensions and be able to trust that each is willing to sacrifice some. Let’s just not lay everything on the laps of teachers and other public sector employees. It just isn’t right. Thank you for listening. I pray you will do the right thing, and not try to strip hardworking teachers of their rights. We need to find ways to support excellence in teaching, and that is done by paying teachers well, helping them achieve pensions and health care benefits that give them a sense of security, and providing districts with professional development that encourages best practices. Most of my formative years were spent in Catholic schools. To provide their children with this opportunity, my parents followed their strength, courage and common sense. They went to the numerous entities involved to discuss their wishes and found the path that worked for them. Driven by their openness to resolution, they formed partnerships with the Pastor, and Council of our Church, the nuns who ran the school and other families who also wanted this type of education for their children. Catholic Schools continue to devise creative and reality-based stratagem to thrive in the face of a siege level opposition to their existence. The key, however, to their ability to remain faithful to their Mission, of providing families who entrusted their children to them with a quality education that prepared them for life’s challenges. Professional Sales trains one to step out of your comfort zone. Do something new, a little bit challenging, in unfamiliar territory. So I opened my mind to Bill O’Reilley’s “Bold, Fresh Piece of Humanity.” The title came from his homage to a teaching professional, a woman, a nun who observed in him what she had ften discerned in the classroom. Without losing her dignity, his teacher put him on notice that she had responded to his behavior and made the decision about the manner in which she would deal with him that school year.
“Bold Fresh” illustrates the divide in the United States between those of us educated in Parochial, Private or Home Schools and those produced by Organized Labor. S-2 Draft deferment in the 60’s, not the vocational call, drove men into teaching. At College, I was scandalized by the behavior of frat boys bound for the classroom to escape Viet Nam. Not an Education major myself, I viewed the change in the profession and felt that the efforts of Al Fondi to organize teachers was driven, not by a respect for educators, but the influx of men into the field. At the same time, males were entering the nursing profession in large numbers bringing about a similar shift in the economic realities faced by hospitals.A comment made by one of my history professors alerted me to another factor impacting Education. In the years following our exit from Southeast Asia, the Administration of elementary schools, the higher paying positions, had come to be dominated by men. The overwhelming take-over of the Office of Principal at the elementary level, to Professor Smith, was what should have been alarming to the Educational Community. In the business world, where my own degree in Poli Sci led me, I worked within the structure of the difference between a Profit motive and Profession. I learned that there truly is a distinction that must be taught:
Government is not Business.
Medicine is not Business.
Education is not Business.
These areas of Professional Endeavor are all Institutions, Social Structures created as the backbone of Civilization. All of us participate in these institutions and our Society has benefited as the result of the brightest and the best choosing a career in these areas by virtue of what has always been regarded as a higher calling.
Professionals are guided by principles of their respective fields and conduct themselves with comportment and integrity that distinguishes them from everyone else. Nursing graduates were “capped” to set them apart from everyone else and called “Angels” because of the care they provided. Traditionally, the platitudes about Teachers cited in your letter were accorded those who eschewed higher earnings to find gratification and meaning in their life’s’ work. During summer months, my teachers in Rostraver Township worked on their family farms, or in Construction or Summer Jobs to supplement their teaching income. They helped each other build and maintain homes, employed high school kids in seasonal businesses, offered summer school for themselves and their charges. Their behavior showed their commitment to the Community of which they were a part.
When Teachers Unions went out on strike to disrupt the normal order of things, when Nurses refused to attend to Patient needs, when Law Enforcement Professionals and Fire Fighters, Postal and Transit Workers and Telephone Operators threatened our “natural order” with behavior that conveyed a seriousness about their demands for higher pay, the rest of us experienced a seismic shift in our regard for them. Services upon which our own jobs were predicated were denied. All the points you make in your letter about the nobility of Educators were “suspended” by these so-called Professionals who communicated to their students’ families that they were prepared to remain off the job until it hurt.
These were not the steel workers, coal miners and blue collar laborers whose contracts with Business Owners were up for renewal in April when the need for their products would permit their employers to resist their actions for months before their withheld services would be felt as loss of profits. These were people employed as part of the System that ordered our daily lives. The “Golden Rule” had been tarnished, proven to be a Fool’s Gold. Those once revered for their professionalism were regarded as “shake-down artists,” bullying us and destroying communities with escalating demands for increases followed up and reinforced by strikes. To the Every Man, it seemed that Teachers were uniquely equipped to evolve negotiation using those purported “superior” skills at the bargaining table, in developing income stream programs that would permit them to earn as our children learn. The Thirteen Original Colonies of the United States of America were founded as Commonwealths. They banded together for the purpose of Defending their Country from the invading French, Indians and scandalously, the King of the Country they left in search of an alternative: control over their own Religious, Economic and Personal lives. They declared their Independence from that King’s oppressive taxes. They chose Revolutionary War over submission to burdensome taxation without Representation. Your neighbors have elected Representation. Your neighbors, through their Voting, have stood up to those of you who straddle Academia and Reality. Are you selfless Contributors to the Common Wealth or Sophist Beneficiaries of Representation that employs tactics you wouldn’t tolerate in your own classrooms? The Voters, the Tax Payers, the “Independents” reject Unprofessional Behavior. They expect Educators to apply their superior knowledge to this issue and find a better way. The results of Professional Interdisciplinary Work should be mutually beneficial. The Union's Win/Lose model failed the Taxpayer forced into submission by those protected in their Union jobs. Unions represented a new class demanding what was perceived by the rest of us as more than their fair share. What we lost above all, was the naïveté that teachers adhered to a performance standard upon which we could build the Future. Results simply aren’t there. If you were a business looking at the results of your advertising, which you would track along with your Accounts and Inventory, you’d see test results and seek prospecting alternatives. The Free Market – not platitudes – drives those choices. People move out of School Districts that subordinate. Businesses as well, abandon punitive tax-based communities. A population that has been taught by their Teachers to resort to disruption and bare-knuckles bullying to achieve ends are thus, unlikely to be moved by those same Teachers’ appeals for respect for their professional contributions. The cold-blooded politicians who stripped Public Employee Unions of their Collective Bargaining rights in Wisconsin are the products of Public Employee Strikes disrupting the households of those who went to the polls on November 2, 2010 and elected them. They learned from their Teachers what works, what is valued, what counts. They’re not Republicans, deserving of abuse; they are opportunists who became “positioned” to make this move against Organized Labor by virtue of the failure of the Progressive Agenda to achieve results. The Hope via Change promised by an incompetent Academic was “selected” through a combination of breach of Faith by the 4th Estate and the misrepresentation of Pay-To-Play tactics as accomplished Political Skill. Those of us sidelined by the Progressives and denied Voice by the “gaming” of the Electoral Process view Unions as glorified Organized Crime and are neither moved by your appeal nor inclined to support anything but continued heat to the feet of the Academic In Chief who preaches Accountability but defaults to the Bully Pulpit when his inept Advisors from Academia are incapable of achieving worthwhile, universally agreed-upon goals through a respectful exchange of ideas. Why can’t the Academic Community practice what they teach? Why can’t they SHOW us instead of telling us? Just as your Excuse Mill running the White House cost HUNDREDS of Democrats in Congress, the Senate and State Legislatures their jobs, Blaming Bush has evolved into Blaming Obama. Accountability begins with those who still have their jobs, who still make the rules. This is the Teacher’s Time To Shine, to transcend the cowardly Victim mentality and be the superior leadership for which we have paid dearly. We looked at the Clintons who studied and perfected diplomatic skills but were brusquely shoved aside in favor of a pig in a poke forced upon us by the Progressive Leadership of the Democratic Party. We watch in horror as our sisters throw us over for Paycheck Protection. We don’t WANT these creeps educating our children! We are outraged that vicious remarks about a self-made success like Sarah Palin is crudely diminished as inferior because she had to pay her own way through college. We are insulted beyond our ability to take in breath by the quintessential Trust Fund Baby, the grandson of a Banker, who has the unqualified support of Teachers’ Union Representatives at the expense of our life savings, our homes, our businesses and our jobs. We endure his endless vacationing while we work two and three low-paying jobs and we just don’t feel you deserve our support. You bought that pig in a poke and it is now the result of your choice that your security is a chip your President will cash in a callous political maneuver to save his own job. Joe Sestak, whom the University Women of Mercer County supported, deprived the Commonwealth of a Senior Senator and now your own Seniority is about to be zeroed out by the same callous progressive punks who are after YOUR job. In the real world, workers who believed themselves to be valued by their employers learned what you now face. Through painful losses of our jobs, businesses and homes, the rest of us have switched to the new “global economy” and are putting our earned status to work in the interest of our own survival. I’m sorry that times are now changing for you but trust that in the future, instead of calling PUMAS, Tea Party Activists and Town Hall Attendees crazy, unworthy of a hearing, dismissed as disgruntled and marginal, you’ll respect and regard your neighbors with a more appropriate civility. Had the Adults behaved as Adults instead of inducing their children to commandeer the elective process, you would not have experienced the backlash that wrenched the power from the partisan Democrats and restored it to the People. You possess the resources, the Professional connectedness and the reliable leadership skills that will bring you and your colleagues through this seismic, tectonic shift in the socio-economic landscape. This is truly a time of great opportunity which you can only discover when you quit complaining about what has actually gone down and re-evaluate the choices that have brought about this situation.
Power finds Processors.
It is a grievous mistake to attempt to possess or wield power. Governor Walker and Governor Corbett will pay the price, likewise, for resorting to gaming the system to oppress their own people. The People have seen the destruction of the Economy that once provided them with a life worth living and have accepted that Everything Has Changed. Wasn’t CHANGE what the 2008 Campaign was about? You accused your opponent of bigotry, racism, insanity, corruption and any other unflattering association in a rush to get yours first. Now you need to take personal responsibility for your rash choice. You celebrated at Obama’s Inauguration and totally got off on taking down the Clintons. Now you should be satisfied with what your choice got you while the rest of the Country scrambles for a piece of what your Academic Approach was incapable of understanding. As your “Post Racial” President discovers that his promise to close Gitmo was a hollow pronouncement of somebody who had no idea what he was talking about, as your “No Lobbyist will run my White House” appoints one lobbyist after another, as your “Health Care Shove” begets incomprehensible Push Back to the thugs who lived by the “Push Back,” you’re experiencing what the rest of us suffered in 2008. We know it hurts. We can’t do it for you, but look at us and take faith that you’ll get through it just as we did. Respect yourself. As a PUMA, I cringed every time one of yours shouted me down with statements such as: “YOU LOST!!! Get OVER it!!!” You left me with no choice but to just eat it, and get over it. I did, and found no more need, wish, desire to have anything more to do with anything that was aligned with “Progressive.” In the words of the Culture Club and Jesus, I say to Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and the corrupt Democratic Rules & By Laws Committee: I know you’ll miss me when I’m gone. You disposed of me to clear a path for yourself to a level for which you were neither qualified nor prepared to master. You blew me off and refused to hear any word of criticism of “Your Guy” just like Fox News and the Religious Right did when we criticized Bush. You were just the other, UGLY side of political ineptitude. You should have stuck to the books and the classroom, protecting the Children from rash, reckless Change when you had no earthly idea of what you were setting in motion. You sent them on a doomed Crusade to force an Agenda on their Accountable Elders that we know doesn’t work. We’re not crazy; we’re educated in the School of Hard Knocks and were trying to reach those of you who were irrationally, impossibly out of control under the influence of an Empty Suit who wasn’t Organizing a Community, he was harvesting your votes. You threw over an accomplished Woman of Senior Status who was ready on Day One to lead with proven, established, accepted skills. You substituted a blank slate and gambled away your Country. You bought the proverbial pig in a poke and abused those of us who weren’t buying him OR your fatuous rhetoric. Let the buyer beware. Not only could the Progressives and Your Guy not get it done, even with filibuster-proof majorities in both houses, they didn’t give a damn about the Democrats whom they sent to defeat in their “Save Obama’s Presidency” forcible imposition of a 2000-Plus Page Health Care Bill the People didn’t want. You traded your own job for his. If you re-elect the jerk, you will have proven that you don’t belong in the classroom with tenure and a pension to provide for you in your retirement. You will belong in the streets with the rest of us, scrambling to earn a living by your wits, fearing the “Death Panels” who will rule on your worthiness for “One Size Fits All Health Care.” You’ll hope those punk, more “hip” urban professionals don’t dispose of you the way they no longer needed White, Older Women of the Democratic Party to win elections. Those Women are “dead” to you and yanking their grandkids out of the Schools where your half-baked principles have done more harm than good. Your “Change” cannibalized a healthy party to win ONE election and those kids under whom you lit a fire with your unproven, untested, unqualified Celebrity went back to the typical apathy of kids, but they changed YOUR world in their wake. They have complete confidence that you’ll provide for them and sacrifice your future for theirs. We promised to say “We Told You So!” every time crap like this bit you in the behind, so here we are, and WE TOLD YOU this would happen. Don’t expect us to listen to YOU when you proved what we already KNEW about all that you DON’T know. The sooner you all admit that you screwed up and get back in line, the more of your hard-earned everything you’ll salvage. It’s time you bit the bullet and do what is necessary to bring about Party Unity since your Party has taken a major hit and your Union is on the ropes. Negotiation, not Demonstration is in order. Get your MOB under control with professional behavior and show us you’re Class. Your President did no work in the Chicago Legislature, voted “Present” rather than lead. Your President ignored the sage advice so readily dispensed to Senator Clinton about keeping her head down and working hard, learning policy and listening to Constituents. Your President chose to exploit Chicago instead of stepping out of his comfort zone as did Hillary Clinton, herself born and raised in suburban Chicago. She went first to Arkansas, “land of opportunity,” then to New York and earned the respect of the world’s toughest electorate. Along the way, she endured enough bullshit from men to choke a horse. I look at a woman like you who doesn’t recognize that teaching is a Woman’s field and Women are the Majority in this Country. Accountability - The Rhetoric Of The Inconsequential Chooser
This weekend, I will walk with my Congressman in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Pittsburgh. The last time I made this "trek" was in the company of candidate, Hillary Clinton, Catherine Baker Knoll and the Secret Service. I learned about "talent management" and in my Scanner, addended my existing skills in "crowd control." Ever watch the little girls in the marching units of Americana lore, bedazzled, spangled and pink, cradling the batons they are learning to twirl? Adult coaches and chaperones contain and account for the little ones (some barely three years old) by encircling them with lengrhs of rope, worked, not unlike marionette strings, to encourage the progress of the talent towards the reviewing stand, their safety abetted.
Her "Parade Style," begun with a promising step, degenerated utterly with her irresponsible CHOICE to cultivate a "counter-culture" of restricted debate, hand-cuffing those Republicans who survived re-election and commandeering the votes of Democrats with quid-pro-quo trade-outs to embellish her control over the Democratic Caucus. I guess we expected more of a matenal concern for the country than a cynical power play to consolidate her grip on the reigns that kept the Democrats marching by the Reviewing Stand to the Bold Progressive's Beat. Nancy's district enjoys phenomenal property values. San Francisco style liberalism made it a magnet for those whose off-beat lifestyles met with rejection in middle America. 434 other Congressional Districts were suddenly nullified by a Progressive Replacement "Golden Rule" equating money with power to the exclusion of any other Force. Foolish. Naughty, Naughty, Nancy. Your Co-Equal Power Wielders expected something much different. Women who represent the Majority had something else in mind by way of leadership from you,

For every Princess in Waiting, there's at least one jealous female, associated by marriage of convenience, to make the story compelling. While we carry signs proclaiming our support of Hillary, the guys sporting blue tooths tuned into their exclusive channel are employing all the resources of the United States Citizens in their own interest, to advance, armed to the teeth. That Ford Ranger isn't on hand to provide an escape in the event of an attack, but more to carry the AK-47 and other hardware that shakes out Advantage: Protected.
Rain or shine, I'll greet my Congressman eye to eye, wearin' the Green and embracing my own Irish heritage. Throughout two years of Obama's administration, the Axlerod logic has flipped the bird to the citizens and played games with political tactics disconnected from the issues, challenges and realities facing Americans. The honor of being the first Woman to serve as Speaker of the House is almost secondary - judging from Pelosi's prosecution of the 111th - to weilding the "ropes" circling the freshman class swept into the Majority in 2008. From a seat in my Congressman's office to watch the inauguration of Pelosi, I observed her bringing the children and grandchildren, her own and those of members, to the Speaker's Stand in celebration of the Change a Woman Speaker would hallmark. The first 100 Days grandiose proclaimations righting the ship, "draining the swamp" to rid the country of the corrupt Republican Culture.Her "Parade Style," begun with a promising step, degenerated utterly with her irresponsible CHOICE to cultivate a "counter-culture" of restricted debate, hand-cuffing those Republicans who survived re-election and commandeering the votes of Democrats with quid-pro-quo trade-outs to embellish her control over the Democratic Caucus. I guess we expected more of a matenal concern for the country than a cynical power play to consolidate her grip on the reigns that kept the Democrats marching by the Reviewing Stand to the Bold Progressive's Beat. Nancy's district enjoys phenomenal property values. San Francisco style liberalism made it a magnet for those whose off-beat lifestyles met with rejection in middle America. 434 other Congressional Districts were suddenly nullified by a Progressive Replacement "Golden Rule" equating money with power to the exclusion of any other Force. Foolish. Naughty, Naughty, Nancy. Your Co-Equal Power Wielders expected something much different. Women who represent the Majority had something else in mind by way of leadership from you,
Imagine our shock that you and another "Sister" Oprah Winfrey, suddenly became incommunicado having hooked up with "the One" who changed your brains, not your life. All that aside, nonetheless, we understand, girlfriend. The guy who plays us gets away with it as long as the romance is good, the jewelry gifts arrive regularly and we can brag that passion is sustained. What we don't get is the Big Sister Act, cutting us out of the Will, manipulating the Family dynamic with something more like Cinderella's Step Mother Maneuvers.

The Oval Office Occupant back burners the Country's challenges, to campaign for re-election, and choosing by handicapping votes. We would do well to lift our chins, look around and see it all. What's Left Of The Democrats Might Just As Well Call It A Day
Here in Pennsylvania, where the Census data returns a requirement to remove One Congressional District and reapportion the Commonwealth's districts, the Republicans plan to meet in Harrisburg to have a sober look at how they might call these shots. Why they'd want to get rid of Altmire - who often as not votes with them on fiscal issues - I cannot say. But Altmire ALWAYS votes the progressive agenda of Nancy Pelosi in the Party Caucus.
I have discerned a connectedness between Altmire and Bob Casey and I don't like it. For Casey, who was elected by tons of traditional democrats who bit the bullet and endorsed him in 2006, it might be time to make it clear that his gestures to take over the Democratic Party and continue his family fued with the Clintons and Ed Rendell is destroying the party. Absolving himself of responsibility for his disgusting backing of Obama when the Democrats of Pennsylvania expressed a clear preference for Clinton - as something his kids convinced him to do pissed me off more than I can say. For Jason Altmire to take Obama's money and vote for him over Clinton who had a 40% primary edge in his district was a total stiffing for which I withheld my support and my vote in 2008. Obama lost Altmire's district to the Palin/McCain ticket and because of the residual resentment fostered by the Women of Pennsylvania, the Party's most reliable voters, I predict that the Democrats will continue to lose elections as long as they let the "progressive" punks of the party do their talking.
Jim Burn, new State Chairman, is on board with the Guy Trip all the way and is foolishly following the lead of the males of the State Committee who are backing ANY candidate who can be propped up long enough to take out sitting Democrats of the more established tradition. As the result, incompetence characterizes the Democrats in the Commonwealth who go into the reapportionment work as clueless as the empty suit they put in the Oval Office with yammering that passed as campaign by virtue of the abdication of duty on the part of the 4th Estate.

After looking over all the possible combinations - and this is my personal view: I have neither discussed nor proposed this elsewhere, I encourage the Women of Pennsylvania to urge Allyson Y Schwartz to challenge Bob Casey for the Senate Nomination. Any Republican Women out there with designs on the other Senate Seat in Pennsylvania, Have At It. I had hoped that Kathy Dahlkemper would consider a run, but Schwartz has the donors and the time in the Committee processes to give Casey a run. Her experience in national politics also extends his.
It is my opinion that a Woman of Schwartz's substance would be an acceptable candidate to enough factions to "Take Down Casey" and to do to the "bold (rash) progressives" what they have advocated for several years be done to establishment Democrats who aren't rubberstamping the Progressive Agenda of Pelosi / Reed / Obama. If Joe Sestak makes another run and gets on the Ballot, a three-way race in the primary guarantees Schwartz a nomination.

To a Sound Man, the suggestion that a costume designer can step into his booth and produce award-winning tracks without bottom-up training is at least as insulting as the notion that a politician with Obama's resume could out-perform the Partnership of Bill & Hillary Clinton or, for that matter, Todd & Sarah Palin. Substance, not Fatuous Rush, is the stuff the Accomplished are made of.
How could a reasoning American expect from the Candidate in the 2008 Primary, who raked in more Wall Street Contributions than his next three contenders combined, anything less than complicity from Barak Obama?
Born the Grandson of a Banker, Madelyn Lee Dunham's bottomless checkbook was the beginning of a life of self-indulgence for the "Privacy Freak" who leads minions who "Want it ALL and who Want It Right NOW! Work for it? Scoff at those drones while milking every contemptful assertion of a "Broken" System and play your way into the Office while you haven't any handle on the Job. Inside? I think the deployment of the "insider" cultural music and rap of the Obama Nation was the Exclusive tactic of the corrupt noveau-riche who allowed him to do their bidding. A Fool leading the Children's Crusade has not yet discerned that the "guts" of the system he disrespects has been wisely removed to a performing platform in an alternative universe he has neither the skills nor the character to uncover.
